What is chemicalize.org?
chemicalize.org is a public web resource developed by ChemAxon which uses ChemAxon's Name to Structure parsing to identify chemical structures on webpages and other text. Related to each structure, structure based predictions are available, as well a search interface is provided to discovery substructures or similar structures. Currently we provide the following data for all structures:
We will continue to work on providing and improving name parsing and structure predictions as well as linking to other available resources to make chemicalize as useful as possible.
How do I use chemicalize.org?
There are 4 primary ways to use the service. From the landing page (www.chemicalize.org) you can type or paste any webpage URL or a chemical name or chemical file content (extensive file type support). Depending on which you will be served either
- chemicalize webpage: A processed version of the webpage where chemical names in the page have been extended with a structure image (denoted with dotted underline). A table of contents of every structure found in the document is also displayed at the top of the page.
- chemical name / file format content
- Calculate properties: all available structure based predictions are genereated for the structure
- Chemical search: the structure is made available for substructure and similarity searching, and each result shows all the webpages where that structure was found by chemicalize.org users.
- Web search: a Google Search query is generated with the chemical names on the input to find all relevant pages on the internet. The familiar Google Search result page is extended with the 2D image of all structures found on the resulting pages. Queries may contain multiple chemical names as well as non-chemical text.
Reporting error
Chemical name identification is not a well defined science and our efforts are under continuous development. To help other users, we hope you will contribute to improving the service by reporting errors in Name to Structure generation.
To report error click on the "Report error" link below the structure image or in the top-right corner of a calculation result and complete the error report form.
Content and privacy
chemicalize.org is a public service. All chemical names parsed by chemicalize are stored along with their source URL and made available for search and other services to be introduced as the site develops. At this time chemicalize.org does not support private data.
Data generated by the functionality on the site, including chemical structure information and structure based predictions cannot be subject to collection and dissemination for commercial gain, any use of the content should be cited to chemicalize.org, date of data generation and a link to chemicalize.org where possible.
The structure based calculations and search technology used at chemicalize.org are based on functionality developed by ChemAxon, wherever possible, calculations will use the latest release version of the ChemAxon functionality.
ChemAxon and chemicalize.org take no responsibility for performance of the site or data generated by the site.
